When users deposit their LSTs into Kelp DAO, they receive rsETH in return. This token aims to provide liquidity to assets that would otherwise be locked and illiquid within restaking platforms like EigenLayer. The mechanism behind rsETH involves the deposited tokens being distributed among Node Operators working with Kelp DAO. Rewards accrue to the rsETH contracts from various services. This setup allows rsETH holders to continue earning the base staking yield from their original LSTs while also generating additional rewards from EigenLayer. Benefits of using rsETH for restakers include gaining liquidity for their restaked ETH or LSTs, simplifying the process of identifying suitable services and validators, and efficient management of rewards. The rsETH token can also be utilized across compatible decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols for activities such as lending, borrowing, or providing liquidity. Kelp DAO also addresses the previous illiquidity of EigenLayer points by converting them into tradeable tokens. Kelp DAO operates on the Ethereum platform and integrates with EigenLayer technology. The project was founded by Amitej G and Dheeraj B. It is governed by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), giving token holders voting rights on significant protocol decisions.
