Hedron (HDRN) is a set of smart contracts that operates on both the Ethereum and PulseChain blockchains. It is built to extend the functionality of HEX, allowing individuals who stake HEX to mint and borrow HDRN tokens against their active HEX stakes. A key characteristic of Hedron is its decentralized nature, mirroring HEX, with no central administration, kill switches, or counterparty risk. This means the protocol operates autonomously. One of Hedron's primary functions is to enable HEX stakers to mint or borrow HDRN tokens. The amount of HDRN that can be minted or borrowed is determined by the number of shares allocated to their HEX stakes. Hedron also introduces the ability to tokenize HEX stakes as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), allowing stakers to trade these tokenized stakes on compatible NFT marketplaces. This feature provides a way to introduce liquidity to staked HEX. HEX stakes created through the Hedron smart contract are referred to as HEX Stake Instances (HSIs). Users holding non-tokenized HSIs have the option to borrow HDRN tokens. If a loan defaults, the associated HEX stake may be put up for auction. While HDRN is designed as an inflationary token, its supply mechanism is linked to the HEX share price. As the HEX share price generally increases over time, the amount of mintable HDRN from new stakes decreases, which is comparable to the increasing difficulty seen in other minable cryptocurrencies. Hedron aims to further incentivize HEX staking by offering these additional benefits and functionalities within the HEX ecosystem.
