Users deposit assets into the protocol to mint these tokens and can redeem their assets by burning both PYTs and NYTs together. This protocol enables various use cases in decentralized finance, including boosting yield, hedging against potential drops in yield rates, and speculating on future yield rate changes. For instance, holding a PYT allows continuous access to the yield generated by underlying assets, and its value correlates with rising yield rates. Conversely, NYTs are designed to appreciate when yield rates decline, providing a hedging mechanism. Timeless also offers Compounded Perpetual Yield Tokens (xPYT), which automatically compound earned yield into more PYT tokens. In September 2022, Timeless secured an angel funding round from notable individuals in the crypto space. Its native token, the Liquidity Incentive Token (LIT), was launched in January 2023. LIT plays a central role in Bunni, Timeless's liquidity engine, which was initially released in October 2022 and built on Uniswap v3. Bunni aims to optimize earnings for liquidity providers and enhance the capital efficiency with which projects can incentivize token liquidity. It is worth noting that there is another project referred to as "Timeless" which is a Web3 coin built on the Solana blockchain, characterized by its high-speed and low-cost transactions.
