Users participate in the protocol by burning tokens to mint these Guardians, which are categorized into levels such as Craftsman, Scribe, High Priest, Noble, Vizier, and Pharaoh. This minting process acts as a deflationary mechanism by reducing the circulating supply of the native token. In return, Guardians provide holders with various rewards and utility within the platform. Other components of the Shezmu infrastructure include The Nile, which serves as a decentralized exchange and cross-chain router, and The Bazaar, a dedicated marketplace for trading Guardian NFTs. Additionally, the Agora module offers a bonding-like system where users can acquire tokens at a discount in exchange for a lock-up period. The protocol utilizes an elastic supply mechanism designed to adapt to market conditions and maintain stability within its internal economy. While the project encountered a significant security challenge in late 2024, the team successfully negotiated the recovery of a majority of the affected assets, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to security.
