What is RAMSES (RAM)?

Ramses is a decentralized exchange and automated market maker protocol that functions as a liquidity layer for decentralized finance ecosystems. It was primarily established on the Arbitrum Layer 2 network and has since expanded its presence to other environments like HyperEVM. The project is designed to facilitate the trading of digital assets in a secure and permissionless manner while optimizing how liquidity is managed across its platform. The core of the project relies on a specific economic model known as ve(3,3), which was originally inspired by the Solidly protocol. This model is intended to align the interests of token holders and liquidity providers. In the Ramses ecosystem, the native token is known as RAM. Users who hold this token can choose to lock it to receive a voting version of the asset, often represented as a vote-escrowed non-fungible token or veNFT. These NFTs represent a user's stake in the governance of the protocol and allow them to vote on which liquidity pools should receive a higher share of token emissions. By allowing users to vote on emissions, Ramses creates a system where projects can incentivize liquidity for their own tokens through a process often referred to as bribing. This mechanism helps new projects bootstrap liquidity more effectively than traditional models. For traders, the platform aims to provide low slippage and high capital efficiency by using concentrated liquidity mechanics, which allows liquidity providers to specify the price ranges in which their capital is used. Ramses emphasizes three main pillars: community, decentralization, and functionality. It aims to serve as a central liquidity hub by offering a developer-friendly environment and an open-source codebase. The project also incorporates features like dynamic fee mechanisms and protection against position dilution for long-term stakers. Through these various tools, Ramses seeks to solve common decentralized finance challenges such as capital inefficiency and the fragmentation of liquidity across different trading venues. Learn more

RAMSES (RAM) FAQ

Ramses is a decentralized exchange (DEX) that utilizes the ve(3,3) or x(3,3) model. It operates as a liquidity hub where token holders participate in governance by voting on which trading pools should receive rewards. In exchange for their voting participation, these users earn protocol fees, creating a symbiotic relationship between liquidity provision and governance.
Ramses originally launched and still operates on the Arbitrum network. However, it has recently expanded to HyperEVM, an EVM-compatible layer of the Hyperliquid L1. Current development and community focus are heavily directed toward the HyperEVM version, which is designed to be hyper-efficient with MEV capture and aligned with the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
Unlike traditional decentralized exchanges where trading fees are typically paid to liquidity providers, Ramses directs 100% of all generated fees to token lockers, also known as voters. Liquidity providers are instead incentivized through emissions of the native RAM token. This structure ensures that governance participants are directly rewarded for the volume generated by the pools they support.
RAM is the liquid, tradable utility token available on exchanges like LBank. veRAM is the locked version used on the Arbitrum network for voting and earning fees. xRAM is the governance token for the HyperEVM version, designed as a fluid alternative that offers the benefits of locking without the rigid, multi-year time constraints typically found in traditional ve(3,3) models.
RXP is a points-based accounting tool used to measure a user's real economic contribution to the protocol, specifically through providing liquidity on HyperEVM. It represents a percentage of the total RAM supply. Users progress through tiers ranging from Bronze to Diamond based on their activity, a system designed to reward long-term users over short-term participants.
Bribes are incentives provided by external projects seeking to increase liquidity for their own tokens. These projects offer their native tokens as rewards to RAM lockers who vote for their specific trading pools. This mechanism creates a primary income source for RAM holders, allowing them to earn various ecosystem tokens in addition to protocol fees.
