RAMP DeFi, also known as RAMP, was a decentralized finance (DeFi) project that launched in 2020. Its founders included Lawrence Lim, Loh Zheng Rong, and Branson Lee. The core purpose of RAMP DeFi was to unlock liquidity from staked digital assets. The project aimed to enhance DeFi adoption by enabling users to collateralize their staked assets, even those on non-ERC20 staking platforms. This allowed users to earn an additional yield from DeFi ecosystems. RAMP DeFi functioned by allowing users to deposit their staked assets into a smart contract platform. These deposited assets then acted as collateral for minting a new stablecoin called rUSD, which was pegged to the US dollar. This rUSD could then be used within the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem for activities such as lending or yield farming, while users continued to earn staking rewards on their initial staked assets. RAMP DeFi was designed as a multi-chain protocol, enabling cross-chain rUSD transfers and focusing on maximizing capital efficiency for assets. It supported various blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and Polygon. The RAMP token itself played a role within the ecosystem by facilitating governance, providing incentives for staking and liquidity provision, and in certain situations, serving as collateral for borrowing rUSD. A significant development for the project was its rebranding in 2022. RAMP DeFi rebranded to LeverFi, with LEVER becoming the new token ticker. The token swap involved a redenomination of 1 RAMP to 35 LEVER, and LeverFi now operates as a decentralized AI network. RAMP tokens were supported by various cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance, Uniswap, PancakeSwap, and Gate.io. Holders could store their assets in digital wallets like Metamask and TrustWallet. The vesting schedule for RAMP's token allocations, which included Farming Reserves, Protocol Reserves, Partnerships, Private Sale, Team & Advisors, and Public Sale, primarily used a cliff mechanism, and these allocations concluded in 2023.
