The QST token functions as the primary utility and governance asset of the network. It is used to pay for protocol services, such as enterprise licenses for quantum-safe security layers. Within the network's Proof-of-Stake architecture, users can stake their tokens to operate encryption nodes or participate in global staking pools, helping secure the decentralized infrastructure. Token holders can also vote on governance proposals that shape the future direction of the protocol. The broader ecosystem includes several specialized tools. QuVault serves as a secure wallet for managing assets with quantum-resistant protection, while the QuStream Authenticator provides a method for identity verification and device authorization. The project also utilizes a sharded infrastructure to ensure the network can handle high transaction volumes without compromising on decentralization. Originally launched as a token on the Solana network, the project is scheduled to migrate to its own native mainnet. At that time, existing tokens are expected to be transitioned to the new blockchain on a one-to-one basis.
