QuipuSwap Governance (QUIPU) is the native governance token of QuipuSwap, an ecosystem built around a Tezos-based Automated Market Maker (AMM) that provides infrastructural solutions for the Tezos network. QuipuSwap aims to offer decentralized exchange (DEX) solutions, including a Tezos AMM DEX, a separate stablecoin DEX, a cross-chain bridge, and farming opportunities. The QUIPU token serves two primary functions: governance within the QuipuSwap AMM and as a means of payment for future additional services offered by QuipuSwap. Holders of QUIPU tokens can participate in the governance of the platform. This includes proposing and voting on changes, such as selecting a baker for delegation, and exercising veto power. To participate in governance, users can stake their QUIPU tokens. The total supply of QUIPU tokens is 10,000,000. The distribution model for QUIPU tokens allocates 71% to community incentives, 13.5% to team funds, 10% for future partnerships, 5% for a grant/developer program, and 0.5% for public testing. Community incentives aim to engage and reward active members, with initial distributions conducted via airdrops. Tokens can also be obtained through farming and other DeFi platforms. The project's smart contracts for governance are open-source. QuipuSwap was developed by MadFish Solutions, a company also known for creating Temple Wallet and Yupana Finance.
