Unlike algorithmic stablecoins, PUSD operates with transparency and acts as a straightforward currency for its ecosystem. The Plume Network, where PUSD is utilized, is a public blockchain compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Its main focus is to bring real-world assets, such as credit, exchange-traded funds, real estate, and commodities, onto the blockchain. These assets are represented as digital tokens, allowing them to be used within decentralized finance (DeFi) for purposes like trading, borrowing, and collateral. PUSD plays a crucial role in enabling secure payments, efficient trading, and robust collateralization across applications on the Plume network. Minting and redeeming PUSD are typically done without fees, and its reserves are managed by the Nucleus treasury system to ensure constant backing. PUSD aims to provide stable liquidity and transaction consistency, bridging traditional finance with the digital currency world by reducing onboarding friction for capital deployment. The stablecoin's smart contracts, known as BoringVaults, are secured through multiple audits by leading crypto security firms. Minting and redemption capabilities for PUSD are currently available on Ethereum and the Plume network for native USDC. The minting process includes compliance checks, with a predicate proxy enforcing regulatory standards by requiring off-chain API calls for compliance messages before a transaction is processed.
