Penpie achieves this by integrating with Pendle Finance, primarily focusing on locking PENDLE tokens to secure governance rights and obtain enhanced yield benefits. Users can convert their PENDLE tokens into mPENDLE at a one-to-one ratio. This process allows them to earn rewards and maintain flexibility with their assets. Penpie then takes these converted PENDLE tokens and locks them as vePENDLE within Pendle Finance, effectively managing the staking process on behalf of its users. The native token of the Penpie ecosystem is PNP, which serves as both a governance and revenue-sharing token. By locking their PNP tokens, users receive vlPNP. This locked version of the token enables them to participate in governance decisions and potentially earn passive income. The platform operates on a decentralized ledger, utilizing blockchain technology to ensure transparency and security for all transactions. Penpie's core functionality relies on smart contracts built upon the Pendle protocol and the Polygon network. It offers several benefits, including providing users with rewards, potentially increasing annual percentage rates without the need for direct PENDLE token locking, granting governance rights, and offering liquidity advantages. The project also addresses common challenges faced by PENDLE stakers, such as uncertainties related to long-term staking and liquidity concerns. A key event for Penpie was the launch of its ecosystem. However, the project experienced a security incident in September 2024. This incident was attributed to a reentrancy vulnerability found in its staking contract, which resulted in a substantial loss.
