Its primary goal is to enable decentralized trading and yield farming within the Cardano blockchain ecosystem. MuesliSwap functions as a decentralized exchange (DEX) built on Cardano, designed to offer an efficient and cost-effective way to trade various crypto assets. The project leverages Cardano's proof-of-stake consensus mechanism to ensure secure and scalable transactions. The native token, MILK, plays several key roles within the MuesliSwap platform. It facilitates governance, allowing holders to participate in community votes and influence the future direction and features of MuesliSwap. MILK can also be staked to earn new Cardano tokens and provides liquidity for trading pairs. Additionally, MILK holders may benefit from premium trading features, reduced trading fees, and early access to other MuesliSwap initiatives like MuesliPad, a decentralized token launchpad. MuesliSwap distinguishes itself by utilizing an order book model for its DEX, a departure from the Automated Market Maker (AMM) models common on other blockchains, made possible by Cardano's EUTxO transaction model. This approach supports features such as limit orders. Beyond basic token trading, MuesliSwap aims to expand the Cardano DeFi ecosystem by incorporating an NFT Marketplace and a token launchpad. The project launched its testnet in October 2021, followed by its mainnet launch in December 2021, marking its official entry into the DeFi space. MuesliSwap also extended its presence to Milkomeda, an EVM-compatible sidechain of Cardano, to enable the trading of wrapped tokens using an AMM. As of January 26, 2024, the original MILK token began a migration to MILKv2. This migration introduces decimal places for enhanced flexibility while maintaining a one-to-one correspondence between the old and new tokens, without affecting the total supply.
