The project also developed mevETH, a liquid staking protocol. Unlike standard liquid staking derivatives, mevETH is designed to capture and integrate MEV rewards directly from the block-building process. Because Manifold operates across the entire validation stack—including the block builder, relay, and validators—it can access more sophisticated MEV strategies to benefit its staking participants. The native token for the ecosystem is FOLD. It serves as the primary tool for governance within the Manifold DAO, allowing holders to vote on protocol updates and development directions. Additionally, the token is used in a staking model where participants can lock their tokens to receive a portion of the platform's service fees. This creates a link between the growth of the protocol's infrastructure services and the utility of the token. In terms of philosophy, Manifold Finance emphasizes a positive-sum approach to the Ethereum network. It maintains a strict policy against transaction censorship and avoids predatory MEV techniques that profit at the expense of regular users.
