Because the ecosystem has moved to its own independent infrastructure, LYXe is now designated as the old version of the token. A migration process was established to allow holders to swap their LYXe tokens for the new LYX tokens at a one-to-one ratio. A central feature of the LUKSO ecosystem is the Universal Profile. These are smart contract-based accounts that replace traditional crypto wallets with more human-readable and flexible digital identities. Unlike standard wallets, Universal Profiles allow users to own and control their reputation, credentials, and digital assets across different platforms without needing multiple usernames or passwords. The network also utilizes LUKSO Standards Proposals, which are a set of new technical standards designed to make digital assets and non-fungible tokens more interactive and easier to use for creators and consumers. The migration window for moving from the old Ethereum-based token to the native mainnet token is currently active. While the process was originally intended to last for several years, the official deadline for the primary migration bridge has been moved to May 23, 2025. After this date, the automated migration process is expected to close, though the project may consider manual options for certain cases.
