LinkPool (LPL) is a Web3 project that operates as a leading service provider within the Chainlink ecosystem. Its primary goal is to lower the technical barrier for individuals and smart contract creators to participate in the Chainlink network. This includes simplifying the process of staking on Chainlink nodes and providing tools for smart contract developers to identify suitable Chainlink nodes for their data requirements. The LPL token serves as the native utility token of the LinkPool network. By staking LPL tokens in a staking contract, holders become entitled to receive a percentage of the fees generated by LinkPool's services. Staking LPL also provides users with a LinkPool allowance token (linkLPLA), which determines the amount of LINK a user can stake on the LinkPool platform once Chainlink staking becomes active. These LPLA tokens can also be lent to others, with borrowers paying a portion of their staking rewards to LPLA lenders. Initially, the LPL token did not conform to the ERC20 standard, but it was later redesigned to address limitations such as visibility and liquidity within the DeFi ecosystem. The LPL and LPLA tokens are ERC-677 tokens, compatible with ERC-20 wallets. LinkPool was founded by Chainlink community members Jonny Huxtable and Mat Beale. The project began with the aim of making Chainlink staking more accessible, recognizing the complexity of managing Chainlink oracle nodes. LinkPool has evolved to provide significant Web3 infrastructure, offering high-throughput, un-metered endpoints to clients and supporting over 150 blockchain networks. They operate high-value validators and have developed stake.link, a liquid staking initiative for the Chainlink network. LinkPool maintains its infrastructure in two Tier 4 data centers, ensuring reliability and performance.
