The project provides liquid staking solutions for Berachain's native tokens, BERA and BGT (Berachain Governance Token). Key products include iBGT, which is a liquid wrapper for BGT, and iBERA, a liquid staked version of BERA. These offerings enable users to maximize their rewards from Berachain's tokens while also allowing their assets to remain composable and usable in other DeFi applications. The native IR token plays a role in the governance of the Infrared Finance ecosystem through a Delegated Incentive System. A portion of the protocol's fees, particularly from its iBGT product, is utilized to buy back IR tokens. In 2024, Infrared Finance raised $14 million in a Series A funding round, with investors including Binance Labs. The project has outlined future developments, including plans for native IR staking in January 2026, which will allow users to stake IR for sIR and receive yields from protocol revenue, supported by a buyback mechanism.
