The native token of the Geist Finance protocol is GEIST, which served as a revenue-sharing token. It was designed to incentivize both lenders and borrowers, with 50% of the revenue generated through lending activities being distributed to users who staked GEIST. GEIST incentives were also provided to users who offered GEIST/FTM liquidity on decentralized exchanges. Geist Finance distinguished itself by not having traditional governance or a protocol treasury. It is important to note that Geist Finance is no longer operating as an active DeFi protocol. Following significant disruptions within the Fantom ecosystem in 2023, the core protocol functions were discontinued.
