Flux FRAX, or fFRAX, is a token associated with the Flux Finance Protocol, a decentralized lending platform. This protocol was originally developed by Ondo Finance before being acquired by Flux Finance. The governance of Flux Finance is managed by the Ondo DAO, where individuals holding ONDO tokens can vote on protocol upgrades and adjustments to risk parameters. fFRAX tokens are created when users deposit FRAX, which is a stablecoin, onto the Flux Finance platform. The underlying FRAX stablecoin is issued by Frax Finance and maintains its peg to the US dollar through a combination of algorithmic and fractional reserve mechanisms. FRAX is partially backed by collateral. The design of fTokens, including fFRAX, is based on Compound V2's cTokens, with enhancements to support assets that may have specific permissions. When users deposit FRAX and mint fFRAX, their deposited FRAX becomes available for borrowing by others. In return for their deposit, users earn a supply rate on their FRAX. The value of fFRAX is designed to increase over time relative to the deposited FRAX, allowing users to redeem a greater amount of assets as interest accrues. The interest rates for lenders are dynamic and are influenced by the market's utilization of the deposited assets. The Flux Finance Protocol facilitates overcollateralized lending and borrowing through a peer-to-pool model. It is designed to support both permissionless cryptocurrencies, such as USDC, and certain permissioned tokens.
