What is BEAN CASH (BITB)?

Bean Cash is a decentralized digital currency project that was originally launched in February 2015 under the name BitBean. It later rebranded to Bean Cash in late 2017 to address trademark concerns and to better reflect its mission as a versatile medium of exchange. The project is designed to be a scalable, fast, and energy-efficient alternative to traditional payment systems and earlier cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. One of the primary technological milestones of Bean Cash is its implementation of a twenty megabyte block size. This design choice was intended to address the scalability limitations found in many other blockchain networks, allowing for a much higher volume of transactions per second. The network targets fast transaction processing, with block times of approximately one minute and initial confirmations often occurring within seconds. At the core of the project is a unique consensus mechanism known as Proof of Bean. This system is a specialized version of Proof of Stake technology. Unlike Proof of Work systems that require intensive electrical consumption and specialized hardware, Proof of Bean allows users to secure the network and verify transactions by holding tokens in their digital wallets. This participation process is referred to by the community as sprouting. Users who participate in sprouting provide computing resources to the network and are rewarded with newly created tokens, promoting a decentralized and ecologically friendly ecosystem. The project emphasizes its community-driven nature and fair launch. It was established without an initial coin offering or any pre-mined tokens, meaning the initial distribution was handled through open mining before transitioning to its current staking model. Governance is managed by a group of volunteers and dedicated token holders, where individuals holding a certain percentage of the network can participate in the decision-making processes for future developments. Bean Cash is optimized for microtransactions, offering minimal fees that make it practical for daily use, online gaming, and social media platforms. Its overarching goal is to provide an affordable and accessible digital currency that functions as both a store of value and a practical tool for global commerce, operating independently of central authorities or traditional banking intermediaries. BEAN CASH (BITB) FAQ

Bean Cash is the rebrand of 'BitBean,' a project that originally launched in 2015. The name was changed in late 2017 to establish a unique identity and avoid trademark conflicts. While it originated from the Bitcoin core protocol, it was specifically modified for superior scalability and energy efficiency. Often referred to as 'Bitcoin's Green Little Brother,' the project is maintained by the Bean Core development team, which continues to work on significant network upgrades like Project Aurora.
Proof of Bean (PoB) is a unique consensus mechanism that represents version 3.0 of Proof of Stake. Unlike Bitcoin’s Proof of Work, which requires high-powered mining hardware, PoB allows users to secure the network and earn rewards by 'sprouting' (staking) their digital assets. This approach is designed to be more energy-efficient and accessible, as it allows participants to contribute to the blockchain’s security using a standard digital wallet without the need for specialized equipment.
Bean Cash was the first cryptocurrency to implement a 20MB block size, a significant increase over the traditional 1MB limit. This technical modification allows the network to process a much higher volume of transactions, reaching up to 1,300 transactions per second (TPS). This high throughput makes the protocol significantly more scalable than many legacy blockchains, ensuring fast and efficient processing for a wide range of digital transactions and micro-payments.
To 'sprout' and earn rewards, users must hold BITB in the official desktop wallet. The process requires the wallet to remain open and connected to the internet to participate in network validation. Furthermore, the assets must reach a maturity period of at least 6 hours before they are eligible to sprout. Once these conditions are met, the wallet automatically participates in the consensus process, allowing users to earn rewards for helping to secure and maintain the decentralized network.
The ecosystem uses three primary units to categorize the currency. The base unit is BITB, also known as a 'Bit of a Bean.' For larger amounts, 1,000 BITB is equal to one 'BEAN.' For micro-transactions, the smallest unit is the 'ADZUKI,' which represents 0.00000001 BITB. This multi-tiered unit system is designed to facilitate everything from high-value transfers to tiny digital payments, providing flexibility for various use cases within the network.
Project Aurora is the major upcoming upgrade known as Bean Cash V2. It aims to introduce a 'Proof of Resources Existing' (POREs) model, enabling nodes to earn rewards by providing computational power for decentralized cloud computing. Additionally, V2 focuses on re-enabling dormant smart contract functionality to make the protocol fully Turing complete for Web3 applications. This roadmap also includes transitioning to a new supply model to increase long-term scarcity and utility for participants.

Bean Cash is currently advancing its Reborn initiative by transitioning toward a new architecture. Recent developments include the deployment of The Farm bridge to unify community communications across social platforms alongside the planned launch of a Distributed Decentralized Exchange. The project is shifting from its legacy consensus to a Proof of Resource model which allows nodes to contribute computational power for rewards. Furthermore the bitb ecosystem is refining its economic structure to target a long term supply reduction toward twenty one billion units. Leveraging large block sizes and fast confirmations the team continues to prioritize merchant adoption for micro transactions.
