xJKL is a liquid staked token (LST) within the Astrovault ecosystem, representing staked JKL (Jackal Protocol) tokens. Astrovault, a hybrid Automated Market Maker (AMM) and Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), utilizes the CosmWasm-20 (CW-20) standard to create these staking derivatives for various supported inflationary tokens in the Cosmos ecosystem.
The primary benefit of holding xJKL, like other liquid staked tokens, is that it allows users to stake their original JKL assets to earn staking rewards while simultaneously maintaining liquidity. This means that xJKL can be traded, used in various DeFi applications, or even as collateral, unlike traditionally staked tokens which are locked up.
Astrovault uses staking derivatives, such as xJKL, as primary liquidity. This enables the liquidity provided to be staked and earn rewards, generating revenue for the AXV DAO. This revenue is dispersed as Protocol Owned Liquidity (POL) and further rewards, contributing to sustainable yield and reducing reliance on external liquidity providers. Astrovault also features slippage-free pools for easy conversion between derivative tokens like xJKL and their native assets.
xJKL is a tokenized representation of staked JKL. When JKL is staked through Astrovault, users receive xJKL in return. This xJKL accumulates value over time due to the reinvestment of staking rewards from the underlying JKL. The xJKL token can later be redeemed for the underlying JKL plus all accrued rewards since the xJKL was created.
