A portion of this fee contributes to a storage endowment, which generates interest to cover future storage costs and continuously reward miners, ensuring long-term data preservation. While aiming for permanent storage, Arweave conservatively guarantees data storage for at least 200 years. Built on top of the blockweave is the "Permaweb," a layer that allows for the hosting of permanently accessible and censorship-resistant web content, websites, and decentralized applications (dApps). Arweave's applications include providing permanent storage for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), web archiving, and offering secure ledger storage for other blockchain projects like Solana and Polkadot.
