While the protocol previously utilized a locked-token model known as veANGLE to grant voting power, recent updates have transitioned the system to allow ANGLE tokens to be used directly for on-chain and off-chain governance. Technically, Angle Protocol distinguishes itself through a modular design and innovative mechanisms like the Transmuter. This system acts as a reserve management tool that maintains the stablecoin pegs by dynamically managing collateral and exposure to different assets. It also incorporates roles for liquidity providers and hedging agents to absorb volatility and ensure the protocol remains over-collateralized even during periods of high market fluctuation. Angle Protocol is deployed across several blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, and Optimism, making its stablecoins accessible across multiple ecosystems. The project was developed by Angle Labs and is supported by several prominent venture capital firms.
